Last minute potions...

After finishing my hot sauce from Victor Ives over at Halloween Hot Sauce, I could not pitch those beautiful bottles and labels that are just so cool. Found some scrap wood and threw together a small
rustic shelf and aged the bottles a bit and now it is just perfect for our food table layout.

The Losers Club

So, after the flood dried up and I took stock on my pitiful pumpkin plants, there were only a couple vines still kicking. With some pruning and extra care I was able to salvage this crop from the mess.
Not much, but it still is better than nothing. I will have to hit the farm stands this year to round out the platoon of Jacks, but always greatful for what I receive from the Midnight Bog.

Could not resist the IT reference in the post title.
(And no, I have not seen it yet...but soon)

2017 pumpkin growing season over?

Due to the heavy rains and extensive flooding in our area, it looks like the pumpkin crop of 2017 has bit the dust. Don't know if these plants can survive as I've never had experienced anything like this, but it does not look good. Looks like I'll be buying Jacks this fall!

Another growing season begins

So another growing season is under way and the pumpkins
are doing what they do best. A bit of a gamble this year since the seeds I saved from last season were a bit damp and when I took them out this spring they were a bit moldy. So it was off to the store to by some pre packed seeds. Never had good luck with them before so I am skeptical about this years crop.
So far so good- got some Connecticut field and Jack o lantern planted. At least they are flowering before the 4th and thats always a good sign.
