Also decided to paint the panels for the front of the garage. Last year they were just black, but now they look a lot more festive. I think this is the year of the skeleton...thank God for the dollar store!
Two more tombstones to add to the Deadwood cemetery- still working on the figure of Elizabeth, the ghost bride to go along with her tombstone. And I just had to do a Torrance one!
Those tombstones are amazing! I gotta learn to make them next year! A question about your candles. Can you swap them out when they go dead?
ReplyDeleteThanks Wicked.
ReplyDeleteYeah. The center of the candle is filled with foam, then bored out when dry.
I got lucky this past year. Menards had 6 packs of the flicker candles on clearance for 2 bucks. I pretty much cleaned them out by August.
Wow! I'm really impressed with your projects! Be sure to post some photos of these panels once they're on your garage, and also of those pumpkins on your roof. That's one way to outsmart the kids! So what are your skeletons painted on? I can't tell if that's fabric or wood.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the dollar store is awesome. This may have been the year of the $1.00 skeleton for you, but it was the year of the $1.00 crow for me! :)
WOW! Muy impressed, especially with the tombstones!!!!! Love 'em!
ReplyDeleteThanks all.
ReplyDeleteJustine, The skeleton panels are painted on sheets of plywood. When put together they leave about a 3 foot opening into the garage under a tent that runs down the driveway, so they need to withstand the wind. What's cool is the garage door can close behind it after the nights party. (I must admit...I got some dollar crows as well)
And Gill Man, I've learned everything about making tombstones from all you bloggers out there!
Nice assortment of props...I really like what you did with the jacko shelf and those panels rock!
ReplyDeleteLooks Great... really like the "look" of your Tombstones... Wish I had a "Pumpkin Shelf" ... Due to Slugs I have had to move my harvested pumpkins into my bedroom...
